The Closing

Can't well have a blog about the arts without mentioning the passing of a major theater from the Twin Cities landscape. Theatre de la Jeune Lune will cease operations in July, sell its building in the Warehouse District (it of the cool space and most uncomfortable seats in all of Theatredom), and after thirty years dissipate into the ether, leaving behind a 2005 Tony award, inventive interpretations of Mozart operas, and some maddeningly inscrutable Moliere. Love 'em or hate 'em (I've done both), the troupe's absence changes the region's (the nation's?) theater scene.
